This 40-hour training is designed to equip tribal advocates with the necessary skills for working effectively and efficiency with victims of domestic abuse. Trauma-informed safety planning and survivor-centered care. Engaging discussions and scenario-based exercises. Storytelling and creative work rooted in culture.

Crisis intervention strategies and ensuring justice for survivors
Tactics of Power and Control
Role of the Advocate
Cultural support aimed at promoting long-term healing
Dangerousness and Managing Safety, including: Strangulation, Stalking and Safety Planning
Understanding the critical importance of confidentiality and mandated reporting and navigating ethical challenges
Addressing complex issues in domestic violence response
Navigating Tribal and Criminal Justice Systems
This training will also prepare tribal advocates for seeking domestic violence advocacy certification and is the only training of its kind that includes relevant information that addresses tribal and federal responses.
