Tribal Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Coalitions
Explore the information below to learn more about each of the Tribal Coalitions and how their services may differ from state to state, region, or tribe. Each organization plays a crucial role in enhancing the response to violence against American Indian/Alaska Native women at the Federal, State, and Tribal levels.
Please note: Most Tribal Coalitions do not provide direct counseling or crisis services, as their primary purpose is to support those who provide services to victims.
The Office on Violence Against Women currently recognizes 20 Tribal Coalitions and their commitment to helping Tribal communities. These Tribal Coalitions are local and regional Tribal experts that offer culturally appropriate technical assistance, support, and education to member providers, organizations, and communities. This allows these groups and member providers to give thoughtful and culturally informed services to American Indian, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian women victimized by domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking, as well as their dependents. These critical services include rape crisis care and safe shelter for women.
The Alliance of Tribal Coalitions to End Violence (ATCEV) is a non-profit organization founded by Tribal Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Coalition leadership in 2013. The ATCEV website is frequently updated with the most up-to-date news, events, and important information about Tribal Coalitions.
